I know some of you need to watch your salt intake per your doctor's request. Hell, we all need to watch our salt intake. I was just asked by one of our great customers if I would give the nutritional information pertaining to salt in our rub. I have done this to him and wanted to post it here also. There is approximately 2400mg of salt in 1/4 cup of Texas BBQ Rub. This is not much salt but salt is necessary in order for the rub to work correctly.

Hope this helps out those interested.

Thanks for the info Bill and would it be improper to ask if you use Turbinado sugar in your rub. Not wanting any secrets but I understand it has a higher burn temp and you can use it on foods that may require cooking at higher temps...ie chicken. Thanks in advance.

No we don't use Turbinado sugar at this time. I have heard the facts like you have that it has a higher burn temp. But still playing with it some to see if that is really the case or not and to find a good consistant quality Turbinado sugar would then be the next step. Thanks for the info and we are always trying new things out.
