Got to agree here with Jason. For the money and time spare ribs are my choice to cook low and slow.

I been a spares kinda guy all my life til bout a few months ago. Always thought backs didn't have enough meat on em' and that they were too pricey. I'm slowly startin to lean towards backs now. 50/50.......Buckeye

That's my point rite there! Too pricey. for the amount ya get. The reason I started doin backs is cuz they fit on my puny lil' smoker better than spares ( actually get 3 racks of back as opposed to 2 slabs of spares). But now that I got's me a real pit, I won't even have to trim the spares...Buckeye

Besides a new pit, you need to call Ritch at Gator and get his rib rack. It works great and gives you even more room.

For contests I cook baby backs, at home I'll cook up spares.

i have to agree with every one here you can't beet a big old slab of spare ribs.Colin
