Local Events

Just was wondering if there will be any local events in the near future? Would like to maybe wander out and introduce myself it that would not be a problem.

I know Czhilispiel is in Flatonia, Texas on October 24-26th... continuous entertainment, food, car show, adult/children contests, parade, carnival, model train layout exhibits, BBQ cookoff & chili cookoff, arts & crafts, etc.
Suppose to be alot of fun!!!

There are always alot of different BBQ events going on in the Houston area. But the one in Flatonia in October is a blast. Did the BBQ and Chili cook-off last year (unfortunately) it rained all weekend so it kept the crowds down a bit but they usually have over 100 Chili cooking teams and about 50 BBQ teams competing. It is the second largest chili cookoff in Texas.

Coming up in September will be the start of a bunch of local area cook-offs. Most of them for surrounding counties of Harris County and they all have BBQ cookoffs at them. The weather gets a little cooler and it is a better deal for the teams. Fort Bend County has theirs in September and there is one almost every weekend in the months of September and October so get out and enjoy them. The TexasBBQRub Cooking Team will again be at Chilispiel (misspelled) this year. So come out and eat some Q on us.

I think I will try to make Czhilispiel. It sounds like a lot of fun. If we do I will see if I can track ya'll down and say thanks in person.

Also on a side note. The first brisked was so much fun I am going at it again. This time we are having a small party and I am going to go for 3 briskets and about 4 racks of ribs.

Hope you get to Chilispiel and please find us. It is not that large of cooking area so we should be easy enough to find. It is alot of fun and cooler weather will be welcome for all of us in Texas.
