Hey Bill I hear oakwood is pretty good stuff to cook with supposed to burn slower than mesquite and god knows its pletiful here in TEXAS whats your take? Hows it taste?

Quickie Will:
OK we both agree that there is plenty of oak in this rather large piece of dirt here we call Texas. And oak is a slower burn, not as hot, good tasting smoking wood. So you can't go wrong with it. Heck plenty of folks use it and love it. I personally use mesquite. But heck oak, mesquite, and pecan, and hickory are all good woods as are a bunch of others. So it is an individual taste kinda thing and me and you have talked about a little about this in the past.
