Houston, we have a problem,

I am out of mesquite so I went by a place here in Santa Fe and they want $250 for a cord and $140 for 1/2. My source from the last time is no longer, so where can I go and pick up a 1/2 cord of mesquite and 1/2 cord of pecan?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I know it would mean coming to town, but call or go to the Wood Chop.

It is just of the corner of Pinemont and Bingle up off 290.

They have never let me down.

Good Luck.

Texana,do you know if the wood Chop ships out of state & are they the same size logs that Bill Cannon uses in his pit?My pit can only handle about 15-16" logs Something like that.

Paul,

I know they have the size you want, but I do not think they ship anywhere.

i was talking to the guy that delivers my wood here the other day, and mentioned the texasbbqrub site, anyways we were talking and he is sure he can beat them prices there in houston delivered if anyone intrested, of course it has to be atleast 5 cords, and yes it would be a group buy, has post oak, mesquite, pecan, etc. on the gruop buy he will deliver to everyones place around the houston are.

just a thought and i hope this dont break any rules of the forum, if it does, please delete.

I would be interested in that there wood. It sure would be nice to have it delivered. I am use to putting it in my truck and taking it out again.

I will be out of town next week in New Braunsfels and will check back when I return a week from Sunday.

Ya'll have a great Memorial weekend! :D

Try Terry Muehr in League City. He was at the corner of Highway 3 and Main, but is now further east on Main in the building where his parents had Herbie's Drive-In, across from Kilgore's Lumber. I don't know his prices off the top of my head. He's open Thursday-Saturday, but has his number posted if you get in a pinch. He's got a pretty good selection of logs, chunks, chips, lump, and charcoal in a variety of species.

Thanks, Ron. I've been reading for some time. Thought I could help both Bubba and Terry with the posting.

I usually get mine in Pearland on 518 between Strickland Chevrolet and the school. Pretty good selection. I usually buy and 8th of a cord at a time for $25 and $30 for Mesquite.
