Alright so the name may need some work but this new product, in my opinion, does not. I received my package from Texana this afternoon and as I was ripping the box open I was jumping with anticipation on what was inside. I looked down into the box and I saw three small jars with small white tops embossed with colored fruits. Made me think about what you might have seen years ago when grandma canned up various items for the winter or for sale. The first jar I took out contained a "greenish" looking semi-solid jelly. It appeared from the outside to be less viscous than the other two. It was labeled "Jalapeno Jelly" and after I tasted it I immediately knew why. Although hot it was not uncomfortably so. I next picked up the jar labeled "Strawberry Jalapeno Jelly". This one was more to my liking as the ratio of hot to sweet was more in proportion for my taste buds. The last one was labeled "Pineapple Habanero Jelly" and if I were to pick a favorite, this would be it. I can't tell what it is about this particular product that attracted me but I sure was impressed with it.

OK, this is what I think but how about other people? Well here is my plan. I work in a fairly culturally diverse population and I plan on taking these three jars to work with small plastic spoons and just give away free samples asking each sampler for their thoughts, good or bad. As soon as I get some data from this activity I'll post it up.

Texana - thanks for letting me be apart of this research. I really enjoy this type of challenge and hope this is of some help to you. This is a seriously good product and I would urge you to make sure that you have yourself insulated, as well as possible, against someone beating you to market.

Bravo!

Wow Mac .......

At this time all I can say is thank you.

Serving suggestion: pour some over room temp cream cheese and dip with crackers, wheat thins, or triscuits. Helps level out some of the heat.

And just to let you know 2 more flavors are being perfected. Will follow with more info later.

Farmboy:

Yes we can ship to Canada. I am probably still a few weeks away from that point. Public sales may not be ready for a couple of months, but for forum folks like yourself I plan offering product before public release.

Price is still being worked on. At this time I just can say for sure. I do know we are going to offer two serving sizes. 4oz and 8 oz.

I will keep everyone posted.

Texana,

I came into work today with your "Tinglers" and I have had at least a dozen potential consumers taste then comment on the products. I am trying to keep the sample size as large and diverse as possible so that assumptions made, based on comments made, have a higher statistical probablity as being representative of the normal population. I have had Indian, Pakistani, American Black, American White and Jamaican persuasions taste the product and I have yet to find one that wasen't impressed. Several were actually ready to give me orders! Unbelievable!

OK, now to round up a few more critters in the hallways.

Texana,

OK partner I am out of product. It literally flew out of my possession.

Here are some of the tasters comments:

1) Strawberry - "Perfect ratio of jalepeno and sweet. When I put this product in my mouth I feel like I am tasting a real strawberry."

2) Pineapple - "Would like to have more intense pineapple taste. When I taste this I want to know instantly that this is a pineapple. Try and match the intensity of the Strawberry product".

3) Jalepeno - "Perfect, don't change a thing"

4) "Would like to see a Guava and a Passion Fruit jelly product".

5) "I would try mixing the Jalapeno jelly and Pineapple jelly product together".

Looks like you have winner, Tex.

:D
