Question for all those use the dreaded "foil". When foiling your ribs, do you think it would do any good to add another layer of Bills rub to the ribs before sealing up the foil and returning to the pit? My thinking is that the meat will only absorb so much flavor it would be a waste to put it on again if it wont do any good. Just thought i might try it this weekend.

I've never used Bill's rub on ribs yet, but I'm gonna.

When I foil, which is maybe once or twice outta ten times, I spritz the ribs with apple juice. I keep apple juice in a sprayer. Just a quick spritz or two.

Pineapple, pear, apple... all add a nice touch, plus a bit of moisture.

Best advice: experiment!

I am like BBQinFL in that I have only wrapped ribs on very limited occasions. I would think adding another round of Texas BBQ Rub at that stage is wasting the rub.

I do wrap my ribs and I will say if you put more rub on I think it will too overbearing. I did it once and it was too much flavor for my taste!

Try adding a little Mr JD and an equal amount of Dr pepper with some red chillies to it. It will bring out Bill's bbq rub' s falvor that much more. Colin

Dirty Ron,

That melted honey and brown sugar concoction, is this placed on the rubs like a glaze then cooked or placed on top at the finish? It sounds so simple and appealing.

:D :D

Put it on late in the cook - just like sauce - you don't want to burn it :D
