fruit wood ?

I know that I've heard you can smoke with virtually any "fruit" bearing wood. What about the ornamental kind, you know the ones that blossum etc but are not fruit bearing. Had someone offer me some ornamental (non-bearing) pear wood and wanted to know if I should take it or if there was anything I should know about this. any opinions?

Crosshill, Good question. It won't kill you if it doesn't work! I gotta believe that it would work fine. When in doubt, get a package of chicken legs on the cheap and try it out!
