ALL CUTS OF MEAT ARE GOOD FOR SMOKING AS LONG AS IT WON'T CRAWL OUT OF THE PIT!!!!!!!! :D :D :D

Not much fat in a sirloin tip roast... would tend to dry out.
One cut of beef I've had great luck with is a chuck roast. Since the chuck is made up of so many muscles, I've given up trying to cook it by temp. My rule of thumb with a chuck roast is 3 hrs/lb. at 225*. Bill's #2 rub is fantastic on this beast.

Would I cook this similar to a brisket?

I agree Redneck Cooker,
If it crawls out of the pit just pulse it once or twice with the weed burner.
