Well, I think I'm beyond hope here. I went to YMCA "Indian Princess" camp with my ten year old daughter this weekend over in North Springfield ,Pa. Nobody ever brings wood for a campfire, so I stopped and bought a trunkful of mixed maple/oak on the way. When I got there, the camp had done some logging and had a huge pile of cherry for our group. Damned if I didn't take out the axe, split me up a trunkfull, and exchange my "junk wood" for this treasure! I had never noticed it before, but this place, right on Lake Erie, was in a virtual cherry forest! Naturally, I was the firemaster for the group. Amazing how most guys can't split a log or get a fire going without some chemical assistance. Told everyone that hopefully, by next season, I'll drag up a mobile to feed them!-Woodman

Tex, only used it as chips and only once, when I didn't know what I was doing. I'm looking forward to doing something with it. I'd love to do an exchange witcha on some apple or cherry for pecan, but the freight issues would make it stupid! Hopefully, I can get down to Flatonia next year and bring some wood along! I got a tradeshow in New Orleans that same time so I cannot make it. Next year I will plan for it!
