Well, I think I'm beyond hope here. I went to YMCA "Indian Princess" camp with my ten year old daughter this weekend over in North Springfield ,Pa. Nobody ever brings wood for a campfire, so I stopped and bought a trunkful of mixed maple/oak on the way. When I got there, the camp had done some logging and had a huge pile of cherry for our group. Damned if I didn't take out the axe, split me up a trunkfull, and exchange my "junk wood" for this treasure! I had never noticed it before, but this place, right on Lake Erie, was in a virtual cherry forest! Naturally, I was the firemaster for the group. Amazing how most guys can't split a log or get a fire going without some chemical assistance. Told everyone that hopefully, by next season, I'll drag up a mobile to feed them!-Woodman
