Shot a 92 today. Not too bad for me. Wore my new Pecan Grove CC shirt my good buddy Redneck sent up to me.Playing in Fayetteville Ar. this Wed, Thur, Fri, at a customer's annual golf and business soirre'. We'll eat some good bbq at least three meals while there. Their bolt supplier out of Tulsa, Sooner Bolt, has a big mobile that they haul over to Q it up. It will be the first time I've done this outing since knowing anything substantial about Q'ing. I will , no doubt, be talking to the guy alot about the business this year!
Getting ready to grill some 1.5"" thick Angus ribeyes for the family. A little pepper, a little of Emeril's Essence (only, home made). Some sweet corn picked this morning while I was playing golf on this sunny 78 degree Sunday. Home made tater salad and fresh picked Brandywine Beefsteak Tomaters with some fresh basil and good olive oil. Puttin the steaks on the Brinkmann Smoke & Grill
over charcoal and pecan chunks for that good Tejas flavor. Maybe some sweet tea too! You guys drink "sweet tea" ( pronounced "swate tay" in eastern NC) in Tejas , or regular?

Actually making sun tea right now and later I will be enjoying some haberno marinated chicken breasts over the charcoal. Going to the grocery store in a few to see what good vegetables they have in stock and hopefully get some corn because that sounds really good.
Today was go to the gym, went to Kroger and got some whole chickens and pork shoulder on sale, watched a little bit of the Nascar race(saw Johnson went out and jumped for joy), dug the last horseshoe pit, and now going to go pick some stuff out of the garden. Oh yeah going to make some pickles probably also.
Wood little thing I have been doing with my tomatos is taking fresh basil and chopping it up very small, a slice of mozerella cheese, good extra virgin olive oil, salt, and pepper and assembling them as tomato, olive oil, salt, pepper, basil, cheese.

I love reading others' descriptions of food. Mmmmmmm.......
I took a pork butt off this AM about 6am and it's been in foil and a nice low, low temp (bout190-200) roaster oven all day. We've been pickin' at it. Also have a brisket I finished up yeserday in our gut already. Got a 8 lb brisket flat and two 6-7lb butts on the pit now.
Just me at home on the weekend practicing before hitting the BBQ circuit next year. I LOVE Q'n!!!!

Hoosier, they call that a "Salad Caprise." I roasted that corn on the coals and pecan chips.....GOOD GOD MAN! Might've been the best corn I ever ate! VERY sweet! Woodman

The corn I got was killer also very happy. I knew it as another name that was all Italian but can't remember it.
I did get some advocados and tomatilos for a green salsa. Decided to grill some Mahi Mahi Tuesday (tacos tommorrow night) so figured make some salsa. So I made a fire roasted red salsa with grill tomatos, red onions, grilled jalapenos, and some cilantro for tacos and then grilled the tomatilos and made the green salsa. Going to be a Southwest inspired week of cooking I think.
