Larry,
It's not brine, but this (http://www.virtualweberbullet.com/salmon1.html) makes excellent salmon
brine to be trueful suckes some of the natural flavor & juices out of the meat...I highly recomend NOT brineing anything.

BBQinFL, Thanks for the link. I caught a 29 pound salmon two weeks ago. I ate as much fresh as i could so now it is time to smoke some. The rub sounds very simple. I will give it a try. Thanks again.

A good oven recipe for salmon is put spicy mustard on it. Brown sugar on top of it and a dallop of butter on top of the brown sugar. Put in a broiler and cook. The brown sugar forms a wonderful crust and the butter melts all over the salmon and the spicy mustard adds a good kick. You could probably do it on a grill no problem over medium coals.

Hey Larry D,
I've never brined a Salmon....I have used the rub and it turned out great! I know there are some good posts here about smoking salmon....I personally am in the only one in the house that eats it, so I like it with rub #1 on it.......just my likings though!
