Just got one of these at Target for 16.99, it doesnt come with the remote but has timer, meat temp on setable temp alarm. Also come with a longer lead, 4 foot that might work on the Maverek....Later Michael

Well tried the probe in my Maverick and it doesnt read right so forget that idea, but it seems like a nice unit to use on its on...Later Michael

That is a nice unit. Use one on every cook. Mine is very accurate. They have a remote type by weber for $49.95 and will get one of those if they ever go on sale.

My wife bought me one (after hearing me whine about not having a "proper" meat thermometer) also at Target.

It's a Tru-Temp by Taylor, digita, probe type. Even has a pocket carrying case.

Now if I can just figure out what temp what I am cooking needs to be at I'll be ready.

Is there a listing on a website somewhere that shows what different meats are done at ?

there should have been a chart that came with the thermometer that lists all the temps. do a google search of USDA and then internal cooking temps. Like fresh pork is 160 to 170 degrees F , but then you take it to 190-200 deg to make it right for pulling. All the temps are on here somewhere as I have written them down as I came across them. Do a search here on temperature.

I turned the package over and sho nuff, right there on the back is a complete listing.
