if'n yer able to dip south of I10, stop in to Pearland and try Central Texas BBQ. Heck- if you're that close stop on by and I'll shove a couple pounds down ya.

I like Taste of Texas for a good steak or even Ruth's Chris steakhouse. I'm not too big on any bbq joint around here.......I been to Central Texas BBQ in Pearland and would rather eat @ Johnny Carino's (Italion). Some people here will tell you to go to Luther's & others will say Pappa's......none of them as good as your own though :D The best Margaritas I think are at Ninfa's Mexican Restraunt.......Hook Line and sinker is an average sorta place with mediocre food (if Red is referring to the one on Hwy 6)..........Gabby's has some pretty good Q come to think of it http://www.gabbysbbq.com/

Dang Smooth ... we probably bumped into each other somewhere, cause I could not agree more on your assesment of eating joints. Hook Line and Sinker is ok, I can remember a few years ago, it was much better.

Ruth Chris has went downhill some also, but Taste of Texas is great. Their is an old place on Almeada that has killer Margaritas. Called Spanish Village. We should get the wives and hook up there sometime.

Yeah Tex we will have to do that. Funny I haven't been to Spanish Village and I work right here on Almeda (about a mile south of Reed Rd.) @ El Paso Energy. I guess when I leave from here I'm ready to get the heck away from it all.....LOL. I haven't been to Ruths in a few years but have been to Taste of Texas probably 5 times this year alone.....I reserve that place for special (WITHOUT KIDS) occasions :D

Tex, since it appears that there are no good places to eat in Hou-town, perhaps you had better cook him lunch! No chicken though! Woodguy

Just to put my 2 cents in ...

Pappacito's Mexican Rest. has some really (I mean REALLY !!! ) good ribs.
They may be an "off the menu" thing (can't remember) but they are super.

Pappacito's is part of the Pappas chain (Pappas , Pappadouxs etc.)
(no Pappagayo's in Nuevo Laredo is not the same chain ... I don't think)

I've always heard that there is alot of good Mexican there. I did not know that Pappadeaux was part of that chain. I've eaten at one in suburban Chicago. Wood

I agree that Pappacitos is NOT the best place to get Mexican (or Tex/Mex) food in Houston .

But they DO have some GOOOOOOD ribs !
