these are a few on my first attempt at shoulders for a fathers day picnic started them the night before they were good mmmmmmmmmmm
found them when i was looking through some folders in laptop thought id post come along a little better since then

Pre, looks great. I like your signature line. It is just the inspiration I needed today. Between my job,( in manufacturing sales,) and trying to get a catering business going in the coming year, I certainly will have opportunity for both! Thanks ! Woodman

BTW...since u sed thoze shoulders were good...were they "just" good or do u think there's room fer improvemint? Whut all did u rub em' with?

hey buckeye,
yeah thats me in the last pic, they were good, those were my first so there has been some improvement since, they were rubbed with a general type rub nuthin fancy,(modified the rub since then as well) They were also injected with a marinaide, again modified since then. started snooping around the que forums and been experimenting since. i think I got it to were i like it best, but always open for suggestions
I have used commercial rubs but they are more geared to someone elses taste buds, so practice makes perfect huh?

Preliator, here is my two cents on butts. I wouldn't bother injecting em. Generally, injecting is good on cuts that may dry out during cooking like brisket and turkey. I haven't seen a dry pork butt yet! If you are looking to add a particular flavor, you can try doing it with the sauce. Woody

Hey Woodman, I may need some help fro you & DR in the futue on the BBQ catering gig. I am wanting to do this but right now, I am blind as a bat so to speak as far as all of the serving particulars & such.
