 Hello and welcome to you all!!!
 I was happy to see so many new member in such a short period of time. Looks like allot of you already know what your doin. You have found a great home if you are a true Qnut you will find yourself spending more time here and less time at other Q sites. TexasBill and Texana have really turned this site into something special. We do get off topic from time to time but people always get there answer in the end.

 Qfest 2005 is going to be one hell of a good time!!! If you think the members at TexasBbqRub.com are strange on-site your in for a real treat when ya meet em in person     .

I have been off-line for a little more than 2 weeks while changing DSL from Earthstink  (worthless butt heads) back to Verizon :? (not much better).

Well, thanks for the welcome... I've sure enjoyed my short time on this here forum! Seems like a bunch of mighty fine folks here...

I've hung out on other Q forums for years, but I really like this one so far... lots more relaxed attitudes it seems...

Happy Holidays to ya all...

James.

:D What kind of cooker are you using that look alot like my Lang?

This cooker is a reverse flow just like your lang. It is 8' x 30" with a 30' x 24" x 1/2" firebox. It was built and is owned by my father in law... I just use it more than he does. It was built out of 3/8" pipe and holds heat very well and the temps are pretty even from side to side.... It does have two hotspots... on either end. but that works for me...

My other pit is a more traditional offset built out of an old cast iron boiler and measures 7 1/2' x 44" with a 30" by 24" firebox... I really need to get this one on a decent trailer, as the one that it is on is not road worthy...

Here is a link pic on my other offset...

More info than you asked for but...

Nice looking home made pit's. My Lang has a hot-spot near the firebox also. I am saving my pennies so I can get me a Custom Gator. I really want a Predator with a insulated firebox. Ritch builds one hell of a great pitt. When we were at Qfest we went to the Gator shop and saw The Texas Legend before her maiden voyage talk about a thing of Beauty. Ritch was also close by at the Floatonia cook off and treated us to some of his Q and Jumbo talk about some good eaten. I was a guest of the Cow Town Pit Crew and let me tell you Swilly, Flap daddy and Redneck sure know how to eat and PARTY. Redneck you done a bad thing giving me the Chili Bug. The Mrs Say's you need to pay my Visa bill for my last order from Pendery's

Jim, ain't that Pendery's catalog awsome? I've been buying from them for years. I buy alot of dried chiles there. Check out the Pasilla de Oaxaca. Smoked dried pasilla peppers. WHOA! Great stuff. Their selection of chile powders is unmatched. Woody
