Read Cold WX Tips - Decided to go far it. "Get'er done"
Started fire and preparing for a day of cold weather smoking.

Alabama brother in-law prepared the marinade and rub last night all systems go. If I can just get the smoker up to proper Temp. Decided to use Hickory logs - read somewhere in here that it burns hotter.

Wish me luck and feel free to give your sound advise. This rookie needs the input.

You guy are great fun. Hope you and yours have a great one.

Moving blankets on the main smoke chamber and a wind break for the firebox. Good luck and what time are we eatin :wink:

The turkey is doing its thing along with a chicken for good measure.
Smoker is holding a steady temperature. Life is good.
Chicken for Lunch and Turkey tonight for dinner. I maybe coming a smoker yet. Not bad for a rookie.

Now if I could only open my present under the tree. The wife says Christmas morning and not a moment sooner.

Hey there NB2D, I'm just down the road from ya in Irving, TX... It is warming up here now. A lot wamer than the weathermen thought... Hope that turk turns out to be the best ya ever ate! I've got 5 of them on the pit as I type...

40* here and turkey at 129* internal. This is BObs receipe for the sweet turkey.

Hey Gents!

5 slabs for family flyin' in from Ft Worth, Tejas tonite. Brisket for tomorrow has been stuck at 120 internal for 3.5 hours! :x

Looks like I'll be pullin' it from the pit as Santa lands on the roof!

with wind chill...-5 is the current outdoor temp.

Duck for dinner tomorrow looks great! Basting every half hour with 1 part peach schnapps, 1 red pepper vodka.

36* herenow. Turkey stuck at 167 for last hour. Would love to have some of that peach schnaps.
