can guava wood be used for smoking? i hope so i got alot of it to cut down. i hope someone here knows..

I've never used it, but I know it is supposed to be very good for smoke flavor. I've heard that several comp teams have used it in the past on ribs and pork.

:D Its a hardwood fruit tree. Dry it out and light it up. :wink: Test it out on some spares or a pork butt so you can see if you like it.

Cortez- there was a guy in Hawaii selling guava wood several years back on another forum- I think he still sells it for cooking so it would maybe work for bbq... fyi his website is- hawaiiguava.com - and he posted a email addy of guava@gregkemp.com/ bet he would be able to answer any of your questions better than me... fyi hope this helps....

i met a guy the other day at golf course and we got talking about q and he uses guava wood and he loves it , he gave me a few chunks, have not try it yet maybe this weekend.
