I thought you had a Klose pit? Are you just adding new weapons to your Bbq Arsenal?

My Klose lives at a weekend place. This is for when I cannot get there.

Did you get a big enough motor to handle the Klose also?

I hope so, I got the 10 CFM blower. The bigger question is how am I going to get a hole for it cut in the 1/2" steel forebox ? That is something I do not know anything about.

I have thought about checking them out for the bigger Pit Guru. Just the Mrs is getting a little pissed at the money I spend on the pit.

How big of a hole does it require? A drill should have no problem putting the hole in it. Get a plug also so that when are not using the guru the head does not drain out the hole.

I will have to check. I think it needs a 1" hole.

Is a drill bit going to cut that hole through 1/2" steel ?

Sometimes the people at Guru list up ones that have been reconditioned. I spoke with them last week and they stated that they would be listing some in a few weeks.

Take it slow and you should have not have a problem. My one Dewalt does concrete so I would not see why it could not do 1/2 steel.

Start with a small bit, jump 2 sizes, jump 2 sizes, repeat till you are at about 1 inch.

Don't try and do the 1 inch out of the gate but if you take it slow and easy you will have good pilot holes drilled and won't need as much torgue from the drill.

I don't know about the Klose vents, but can you not attach the guru inlet to a piece of aluminum flashing and attach that to the inlet vent door. Save a hole in the firebox.

I know mine tops out at 60mph and that is going downhill with a tailwind. Find it is hard to keep it stable at that point though.

Problem is we have been racing the restrictor plates and you have to run at 75% suppose to make it safer but have not seen it yet. Hell this guy in a Klose took a nasty spill coming into turn 3 and man it was charcoal all over the place.
