8) Gotta love free Wood. I been trying to buy Hickory in Maryland and not having much luck. I guess I am going to have to break out the old chain saw. Good thing I got a cord of Maple and a cord and a half of Red Oak. I already cut down one small Hickory and have it drying out in the sched it not much at all.

Stupid question but have you tried calling a landscaping/tree removal company? I was having a pain finding it also till I called this local tree trimmer and he had it all cut up and ready to go for me.

nope theres nothing wrong with it. around here theres all kinds of wood except texas wood as you stated. its been about 18 months since the loggers been on the 500 acres. as far as the apple wood the storm took care of that last summer. but finding the time to go get it is the problem.

Wow that would piss me off. I had a guy do that to me once was suppose to get a cord of hickory for like 60 bucks delivered and then he never delivered on it. Luckily he never picked the check up either.

I found a really good guy in town who may take a couple of phone calls but he does get it done.

I found a guy here who owns an auto junkyard and does some wood splittin on the side. :? :? He has a good supply of various kinds of wood on hand, all split into 16" pieces. I picked up 26 pieces each of pecan and apple yesterday for 15 bucks. Considerin I'll only use a few chuncks at a time on the WSM, I have a fair supply for a reasonable cost. 8) 8)
