Ok boys and girl after 12 months of waiting im gonna cook a few butts tomorrow with the maple wood,,ill let you know how it compares against my 75% oak 25% hickory butts...

Yah, let us know. I have never smoked with Maple. It should be worth the test.

Ive heard its mild like white oak but kinda sweet and awsome with pork,,were gonna see,,it was free so

I actually have to have my maple tree in the backyard trimmed up so curious to see how this works out. I have read it goes good with hickory in a 50/50 fashion also.

I use sugar maple chunks in my WSM for smoke. It's my favorite smoke wood for pork and chicken.

I like it especially with chicken! Smells like maple syrup! They are "sugaring" now around here. There are an abundance of them in NE Ohio. They have a maple syrup festival in a couple weeks in Chardon Oh. Woodmaple
