If I use a Brinkmann charoal pan as the water pan in a WSM, will it get in the way of adding charcoal ?

Also if I do that and really load up the charcoal pan, how long a cook at 225 degrees will the water and the charcoal supply (Kingsford briquettes) last before needing more.

I use the Brinkman water pan also. I've never needed to add charcoal or water. I've had cooks longer than 12 hours without refueling. Yes the water pan would get in the way of adding charcoal. Use the Minion method
and you probabaly won't have to refuel.

It makes it a little tighter to add charcoal, but not impossible.

I've always used the Brinkman pan. I fill the ring to near the botom of it. The only time I've ever added charcoal was the first couple of cooks when I didn't fill it all the way. Windy conditions can cause you to run short, as well.

I don't have trouble pouring water through a long neck spout into the pan. I will usually have to add water for a 12-15 hour cook.
