View Full Version : Got 2nd in ribs this week!

Here are a few pics of the cookoff we had at work on sunday night, we turned in monday at 10:00 , 10:30 and 11:00 am. My brisket didnt do so good as I took advice on the fly and sprayed with coke while cooking, first mistake! My chicken did like 5th I dont know what happened everyone that came by to taste said it was kick ***! And my ribs! they took me to 2nd place! There were only 12 teams that turned in and these were some seasoned cookoff guys here! Hell not to bad on my first cookoff entry not to mention got paid to do it, all the meat, drinks, wood, and supplies were paid for, brought home a big trophy and a $100 gift card for Wally World! heres the pics!

The plant manager and I receiving the trophy. This was a Helluvalota fun! I cant wait for the next one! One of the guys invited me out to the Baytown cookoff next month I might try to make that and cook with him, we will see if the work schedule permits.

Congrats on having your cherry busted, its addicting and you'll have a blast. Good pictures and a nice looking piece of hardware.

Gotta ask... What is the signifagance of the hand gesture in the first picture? You ain't related to that guy that pees in eggs are you?

Hell I didnt even notice I was doing that! :lol: It is synonymous with holding a roll of cash as to display "this is the money shot". I have no knowledge of pee'n in any eggs, nobody saw me do it ,and I havent seen no pictures! :lol: Yep round here we got sum Big Boys! I think it might have something to do with the pitchers and numerous Hooters Establishments we have. :roll:

I like to put it on right out of the jar about ten min before taking them off the grill. However i had read some of the guys here like to heat it up or melt it down first then put it on...Haven't tried it that way. But which ever way you try it becareful because that stuff is addictive :!:
