Got a event coming up and need to precook some. Is it best to pack the meats already sliced or does it not make a difference one way or the other? Ruffly how long in boiling water would it take to reheat? Thanks for any suggestion...Michael

That would really depends on how much you put in the bags. 10 minutes in boiling water should do you then just cut off the heat and let it sit till you are ready to serve. I know in a five gallon pot of beer will stay hot over night.

If you're taking the meat out of the freezer, it may take 20 minutes or so, depending on how much is in the bag.

I don't like to slice brisket before I freeze it. Now with Pork Butt, I always pull it before freezing.

It's hard (but not impossible) to over cook when reheating by boiling in the bag. Remember, the water is 212. Also, as long as you have the bag sealed, the moisture in the meat ain't going nowhere.

I have only had my seal a meal a little while and it is the best way to re-heat BBQ

TL has a good point about being frozen. 4 lbs of butt took me 30 minutes in boiling water to defrost.

 Before my seal a meal the leftover frozen pork would have a funny taste when we re heated it. I must have been the air not a problem anymore. The Mrs likes the fact she does not have to wash the pot after we heat up leftovers. The bags are not cheap but the are worth it.

I vacuum seal everything. Works perfectly when meat is on sale to buy a large qty and seal.

Also, before you freeze it mix your marinade with the meat and when you take it out to defrost it will marinate as it defrosts.
