Question on Peach wood got me to thinking about Plum. My Son in Law is about to cut down some plum trees and they are about eight inches in diameter at the base. Would this be worth cooking with? There will probably be a pickup truck load from the several trees he is cutting.

I have heard that smoking a turkey with plum wood tastes great!

Ahhh Plum wood is a true delight. I would snag all I could and guard it with my life. Use a base of something bland and cheap (hackberry or charcoal for example)...saving the Plum to add occasionally for flavor. That make it last a lot longer than trying to stuff it into the ravenous maw of an offset firebox in the Lone Ranger configuration.

Good one TL. I thought that was a:
"I am not gay but my butt is" bumpersticker on Woody's pit but was not going to say anything.
