Well Guys
I am going to try smokin a Fatty this weekend
(Woodpost no wise cracks)
What is it you ask? lol I saw in another forum
Low and Slow Smoke a Jimmy Dean Sausage
ya know a 1 pound tube deal (take it out of the plastic da)
Because a feller is working a grill for hours needs
something to hold him over till its all done

Owens be good too if you ever want to do some switch hitting on the fatty so to speak. Tastes much mo betta than a person would think.

All you do is take the plastic off and put it in the smoker? How long is the cook?

I myself don't know but I reckon untill you get the IT up to about 150 I reckon. But I am gonna give that a try myself.

Be careful with the amount of smoke. I smoke meatloaves, and it isn't hard to over smoke ground meat. I've found rhat on a WSM at 300* one fist sized chunk of hickory is all I need. Smokin

I tried this a while back, And i never checked internal temp, I beleve i had it on there for about 45 Min to an hour at around 225
You know checking for color and slight bark. Very Good, Sliced it and served with chuck of cheese.

smoking a fatty during a nice long cook is great...the only problem is that when you're done with it, it just makes you more hungry. 8)
