Does the lower rack on a WSM cook pretty close to the same temp. as the upper rack. I am doing brisket on top and ribs on the lower and was wondering if the ribs would cook as usual on the lower rack using Bills 123 with a 225 temp at the upper rack

Quoting from the test with water in the pan: "The difference between the top and bottom grates is consistently higher than with the empty pan, in the range of 12-18°F with a few spikes of 20-25°F."

I have a vertical and I always put the ribs on top and butts below. I also move my stuff around in the vertical during the cook.
