That would be a hard one to really answer. I guess that you would want to take a look @ the cost factor & how mwny PPL that you plan on feeding. They are both good units.

If you go with the Klose, splurge and get the BYC (Backyard Cooker), or, go with another foot on the main chamber. It doesn't add much cost an it'll come in handy! Woody

Don't know 'bout the Klose (other than their great reputation), but my buddy has a BGE and we've cooked together a couple of times. They're very popular in this area. The BGE is limited in capacity, expensive, and very heavy. However, it cooks steady for long periods of time on very little charcoal. The temp range is huge: 200F to well over 600F for grilling just by adjusting ther air damper. Temps adjust very quickly. The finished product is very good and cooks quickly if you want.

Personally, for the same money I'd buy buy 2 Weber Smokey Mountains and a kettle with rotisserie, but dat's just me.

Lalo,

Hard to answer question. I think it depends on how you like tending a wood burner (Klose) versus the charcoal burner (Egg). Each has its own Pros and Cons which you need to identify then figure out what will work best for your particular situation. Much to consider on your part I'd say!

Mac makes a good point. I know my old offset required attending the fire about every hour and a half. The BGE and my WSM can cook all night without attending.

Well, as mentioned, they are both good units that are supposed to capable of turning out very good food...

Myself, I would opt for the offset, the biggest you can afford!

One thing to consider tho... I doubt the lid on the Klose will loosen up, fall on the ground and break...

Another pit builder to take a look at is Bates... http://www.batespitts.com

Let us all know what you decide.
