beer in the butt

any ideas for the beer in the butt chicken? can i use the texes rub?

I don't see why not although I haven't yet. I usually cook mine on my kettle and just season it with the usual suspects - salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder. I stick a onion in the neck and away I go.

I have heard of people using liquid other than beer like soda which sounds interesting.

You can use Tejas BBQ rub on anything, even ice cream. :D

I agree you can use txbbqrub on just about anything. I have used it on beer butt chix and it was awesome. Something else i like to do is put a few sprigs of rosemary under the skin and just season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
