Just found this:

Anyone else have any good links to pepper pages?
Yep. A buddy on another board put me on to that fine site. Ever since, I've been wandering the aisle's of stores all over Atlanta collecting dried-up capsicums with strange names. Also making the best chili I ever ate.
Here's some more.

If you want a quick "shot" of heat, buy some OC spray used by police. It's food grade oleoresin capsicum and usually at about 50,000 scoville units.

Ouch...that's spicey.....C'mon.....ice cream!!!
One interesting thing I've noticed (or maybe I've overlooked it) is that tabasco peppers are not listed in most of the sites on chiles.

This is a good site for pepper heat. and Tabasco is listed there

Yep, good one. The list includes fresh and dried since the names are different. The dried poblano, for example, is called ancho, mulato, or pasilla (incorrectly applied). Twood be mucho simpler and lesso confusing to say "dried poblano".

I did some 'horizontal' Poblano ABT's last night. They had a little heat. but I really prefer those Jalapenos.

Steve-O, check Freds posts from the spring of 2005. it was not a link but a very infrmative post on chilis of all kinds. I may have saved it, need to check. Fred has some posts that make great referance sheets.

Yeah, I've got several of Fred's dissertations saved for reference. I've looked for the post you're referencing, but haven't been able to find it.

I've exchanged emails with Dave DeWitt, he's a really good guy. My favorite part of the Pepper Pages is the Industry Directory. I use it when I am headed out of town.
