I had a friend that was getting me some homemade sauce that had Cholula in it but they are no longer a friend so I need new connection or recipe. Thanks Michael

Well, you could start HERE (http://www.cholula.com/) and build your own. That way you'd never lose it. Maybe start with your favorite commercial bbq sauce as a base, start cutting it with other stuff and add the Cholula to make it "your signature" bbq sauce!

The way I look at it is...if someone makes something I really like, I have them show me how to make it because I never know when I might tick them off enough to never wanna share with me again

Vinman is a wise old codger...being shown is the way to go. This way you can adapt something that you'd like or dislike during the process.
I've said many times before that I always go by feel and not by the recipe. It's really only recently and especially this forum that I've started to write down recipes.

Try this. It is great with pulled pork. It's not tomato based but it is worth a try.
2 cups apple cider vinegar
1 cup yellow mustard
1 cup brown sugar(packed)
2 tbs finely ground black pepper
1 tbs worcestershire sauce
1 to 2 tbs tabasco sauce(depending on how hot you like it)
1/2 tbs salt
Mix together and keep in fridge. If you like tangy this will fit the bill.

Grab a bottle of Spice-It-Up Jalapeno Ketchup and use it with Bill's recipe.
