If you're needing some bacon, Albertson's has their deli bacon on sale for $1.77/lb. It's thick sliced and not juiced up. I just bought a 25# box. It will be vac-pack and frozen in smaller portions, of course.

I stocked up on some bacon from costco and have to say that it ain't that good. Can't even give it away LOL

I was thinking of you when I posted this. Every time I've seen pictures of your cooks, there was bacon in it somewhere :lol: . This is good bacon, too. I don't much like Albertson's, but if you're careful, sometimes you can get some good deals on their meats. They had hamburger for $.99/lb for their 8-hour sale recently. It wasn't the stuff you buy in tubes, either.

I tried that kit and made the Canadian bacon using pork loin. Followed the directions to the letter and it was really good.

TAR, that is my family's favorite. I dont consider it Canadian Bacon other than it is made from loin. My family always calls it ham.

It's more than ham, but it tastes better than the canadian bacon they sell in the stores. It is real lean and fried up and mixed with eggs with a slight hint of TPJ(pineapple habanero of course), it's a meal you can live with.

It tastes only marginally like a distant-relative of bacon. It has little to no texture. And it squeaks like a dog's chew toy when it's chewed on... :oops:

The Jennie O's Turkey Bacon is actually not too bad. I love BLT'S and would use this in place of regular bacon to make it less fattening.
