View Full Version : Angus at WalMart?
I bought 30 Excel packers yesterday at Wally World, 15 each at two different stores. The ones from the second store are marked Angus Pride, or sumpin like that. They are stamped Choice. I didn't notice the markings on the first batch, maybe yes or no.
Wonder what's up with that?

Don't know what happened or the story, the meatman didn't speak english, just able to grumple and grunt, but heard about them Thurs. they on sale here at 1.58 lb USDA Choice stamped, Excel brand, no limit and most pretty decent size 10lb and just shy of 12. Don't see that everyday.....but I like it!

Well everybody hates Excell briskets with a passion around here. I take a select IBP any old day over a Choice Excell. Course I could be prejudiced.

Both Sam's and WM have select and/or choice from time to time. They are always the same price. They went to $1.58 a few weeks ago. They haven't been that high in quite a while. They both have IBP or Excel from time to time.
It's interesting, at the WM in Beaumont, they act like you are trying to borrow money if you ask if they have more or specific size briskets. Reluctantly, they will get a few more.
In Lumberton, they act like they are in the meat selling bidness. They had 3 or 4 10 lb'ers on the shelf. When I asked if they had more, the guy asked me to come in the back while he weighed several boxes. "Grab the ones you want, if they hit the mark."

That's the regional sales market for you. I asked the Walmart managers of 3 stores about briskets, and they went to their computers and told me about Corned Beef Briskets on the shelf...Noo Yawk...great place, if you can survive it.

I get along better at Sam's Club than at Wal Mart. Of course, when the Wal Mart is in Uvalde, TX, they cater to a certain crowd with their foods and it isn't us Gringos.

Unfortunately the Sams near me don't have anything better than what's made for corned beef.
If I have to travel to a Super Walmart, which is about 40 mins away, I stock up. Had calls from 2 people about picking some up for them tomorrow. Seems I'm turning alot of people on to this little known secret LOL
They all get the Chargriller and use their own rub and say "it's not as good as yours". Believe me, I tell everyone about the rub but they don't order it for some reason
I don't let anyone borrow any neither

smart move. just tell them if they want it to taste as good as yours, then they just have to order some rub...and don't forget to tell them about sniffing the shipping box...it's required.

Wal Mart pisses me off to much. I swear every inbreed idiot in this town meets there.
Sam's Club I could not live without if I tried. Love that place. How can you hate a place that carries laundry degerant that weighs more than me.
