question..
when you pull your butt, do mix bbq sauce in it or just keep it on the side?

It depends on my mood and the moods of my audience. More often than not, I mix sauce with some and leave other plain. I just like mine with some dashes of Tabasco, so I go for the plain.

I use to mix it in, but now I serve it on the side. Some folks eat it plain and some use the sauce. Either way, I ain't got any complaints.

I serve it on the side. Two vinegar sauces~1 hot, 1 sweet. Two bbq sauces~1 tomato based, 1 mustard based. No one complains.

Hey BBQAngel, on that mustard based sauce, do you make your own or buy it already made.? I know of one commercially made mustard sauce that ain't too awful bad.If you do make your own, would you mind sharing that recipe if @ all possible?

I keep the meat dry, and serve my Carolina vinagar pepper sauce in a squeeze bottle. Sweet sauce stays in the KC Masterpiece bottle... on the side!

Did my first butt this weekend. I kept all the juices from the foil and added them to the pulled meat, but didn't add any sauce into the mix. I did have a nice mustard based sauce on the side. Made for some tasty sandwiches.

I made my 1st butt a couple of weeks ago.. 2. 7lb bone in.
they turned out tasty, but a touch dry..(i think i should have cooked them a little longer..went 16hrs at 230ish)
they did pull easy, the outer part fell apart.. the inner was a little harder.
and i didn't let it rest more than 20 minutes..

we debated the mix/mixed in sauce for that 20 minutes.. other wise..no rest'n for the butt

Well all of the above sounds good, but the truth is this ...

Texas Spicy Peach Grilling and Marinade is the best.

You can either pour in the foil if you wrap your butt and let it cook in the sauce

or ...

Do like I do ... pull the pork and pour over the finished product for a refreshing spicy peach flavor that will enhance the flavor of the pork.

You can also use for a dipping sauce ....

Ask TexasBill about using this sauce. He recently used it on a Pork Loin and everyone at the party thought it was fantastic.

Damn, my adblocker missed this one!

Just kidding, that sounds like a good flavor mix for a summer bbq. I bet that peach sauce would really make a good cold bbq sammich ... lightly sweet, and cool for this summer heat.

Dang you Texana :x ! I have one package of pulled pork in the freezer and a bottle of your grilling sauce on the counter. I've been holding off on heating up the pork until I found a really good sauce recipe for it. Now I'm going to have to go home, heat up a pot of water to heat the pork and use up my last bottle of your sauce :x . You are evil! I tell you. EVIL http://bestsmileys.com/evil/3.gif!! I was going to use that bottle on some more of kpigout's chicken. Now I'll have to order more. EVIL http://bestsmileys.com/evil/4.gif!

That Jellyman's peach grilling sauce is good on everything I tried it on....was great as a glaze for a pork loin, some thick pork chops, and was really good on some grilled BBQ'd shrimps with jalapenos n' a stick of pepperjack cheese, all wrapped up inside a piece of pork tenderloin with a slice or 2 of bacon.....Yeah buddy! They was gooood...

I just took the first bite out of my pulled pork sammie smothered in TPJ Peach Grilling Sauce. Wow! It adds a whole new dimension to pulled pork. I love the flavor and the kick it gives it is fantastic. I have to stop typing to keep from getting stuff all over the keyboard.

My 8-years-old son took a bite of his and said "If I'd known it was going to be this good, I wouldn't have complained about having to eat it!" Both kids finished there's before I could even finish mine. That makes a Daddy feel pretty good. Now we're going to play some Monopoly! They both beat me last night :( .

I had some Memphis BBQ pulled pork this weekend in DC at the comp. I got sauce on the side. When i ate it, I wanted to try the pork on it's own w/o the sauce...i was VERY tasty and very done. But then I tried it with the sauce on it and I loved it also...just shows to go you...
