I am gearing up for my first contest and trying to get everything ready. I will be cooking all four categories this weekend to get my timing down.
Anyway, I have seen people make leg extensions out of PVC pipe. Will someone please post how. I know this is probably easy, but I am not exactly a wizard designing things. Thanks.

I made a set or two for Mrs. M38A1 when she was on the road with trade shows.
You have to have tables that will have a cross support at the feet or better yet, the ones with the 'feet' that turn down the last 12" or so before striking the ground.
They are simple to make in that all you do is measure the desired length of pvc pipe you need for each leg (they should all be the same), drill a cross hole in it and put a small bolt/nut assembly in it. Then, slide the table leg into the pvc and it rests on top of the bolt/nut.
Make sure you have at least 4 or 5 inches of the table leg INSIDE the pvc for stability. Also be aware they WILL BE a bit wobbley. Remember the pvc doesn't have a lot of structural strength either, so heavy weights or any lateral movement could be bad ju-ju.
If you're interested in tables with the longer legs, I could probably dig up the company name that made her tables since she thought the pvc route was a pain in the ***** after a time or two.

M38A1 - Thanks. If you can dig the name of that company up that would be great.
Thanks Again

I bought a couple of tables from Sam's Club with adjustable legs that will get up to waist high that really work well, easy clean top and light weight...but sturdy.. 4 ft x 2 ft for about 39 dollars.

Y'all wouldn't have a link to that Sam's folding table would you? The only one I saw that cheap was this one:

Edit: I found the table (I think) that y'all are talking about but it says "available online only" and are only sold in 4 packs.

Well, I was gonna stop there on my way home anyway so I'll just see if they might have them and if they're available singly.

This company makes excellent folding tables. I have a little 20" x 30" one that you can adjust the height on. It was $20 at Sams a couple of years ago.

Kirk, neither one of those links from Sam's were the table that I was talking about. The ones I have are put out by Lifetime, have about a 2 inch thick top of composite resin with fold out legs that are pretty heavy duty, (very little shaking when fully extended) then the bottom legs will adjust out to 3 positions of height, the highest being about waist high or so, no bending of back when prepin' or cutting meat etc. The Sam's down here carry 2 kinds of these Lifetime tables, a large one and the one I bought that's 4 ft x 2 ft and it's the only one that adjusts the legs height.

I built a table to use outside by cutting plywood to size and then buying four pipe flanges and two eight foot long 3/4" black iron pipes. The latter are usually threaded on both ends. I cut these to length, screwed them into the flanges which I had mounted to the corners of the table top and now have a table with legs somewhat adjustable and easy to store.
On another table I built I welded nuts into the bottom of 1" pipes and I can screw threaded rods into the nuts to adjust the height in really uneaven situations.

Thanks everyone. I picked up these at Sam's today. Bad Santa and Big Mike, are these the tables you were talking about? Sturdy, tall, and they breakdown. :D
Sadly BBQinFl, they were more expensive than $20.

No, ones I got don't break down like that. They might not carry them all alike in all of the Sam's.

I picked up one of these this morning. It felt a bit sturdier than the one that folds up.
