Dang, hadn't rained in North Texas, least my house for heck - I can't remember the last time it rained. Sure enough, suppose to rain today. Anyway, just put on two, seven pound flats from Sams for late afternoon feast. Have friends and family coming over to swim, drink and feast. I might just blacken some steaks too.
Recognize the rub! Happy 4th. Tom

Cloudy in San Antonio. They say it could rain, but they been saying that for a week. We should be floatin' in Noahs Ark by now according to our local weathermen.
Going to a friends at Fair Oaks near Boerne and grilling some steaks this afternoon.

Finally had some rain at my house, for the first time in 5 or 6 weeks, and they're predicting more for today. Guess I' m going to have to start cutting grass again.
Keeping it simple today...just grilling some hamburgers, w/ some kind of sides, when the wife gets home from work.
Everyone have a good fourth. :D

Company showing up at 4:00, sure hope they don't want tyo eat as soon as they arrive. Thank god my son is bringing 4 slabs of smoked ribs.

Wow, Bairman...sounds like what my old Boss used to say. "You F' ed up with Both Feet !!!'
Not too bad though...I have defrosted a butt or two in the microwave before cooking them... ...but it worked a lot faster than water baths or praying
But when I messed up, I had nobody to help me out like your son did for you. I hope you take this the right way...after I wrote it, I read it and said a little 'oops'.
So how did it turn out?

I can't seem to find beef short ribs with the bone around here.
The shorts I find are just great but it just don't seem right eating a boneless rib with your fingers.
That Q all did look great though...note to self...plan to have Z's Q some day.
