when using the TPJ on your ribs, do you apply the jelly straight on to the ribs or do you cut the jelly with something?

Myself, I just apply it straight on. I think that most of us in here do that. I let it heat up about 5 seconds in the nuke box & then just spread it on during the last 15 minutes that the meat is on the pit.

Thanks Paul, My ribs have always been excellent, but it seems an awful lot of people use the TPJ, thought I might try something different this weekend

It depends. It will be much hotter if you use it straight.

Now I gotta comment on Woody's response. When I first ordered TPJ, I thought that the Jalapeno was hot enough and I didn't want to try the Habanero. I had mistakenly eaten a habanero pepper in the past and almost 'croaked' from the heat. So I didn't want any of that...
But I gave in and ordered some Hab...My wife and I think that the Hab is not hotter than the jalapeno. Not saying it's cooler, but it's not a killer heat. I have eaten the Hab out of the jar. Sure, it has heat...but I didn't need to stick my head into the ice cream after eating it.
Unless I'm just getting used to the stuff...
And I recomend trying the Srawberry-Rhubarb AND the Blackberry

I've experimented with using the TPJ pine/hap (my personal favorite) mixed with other BBQ sauces like Sweet Baby Ray's and Bull's Eye....both make a real good sauce when mixed with the jelly; But when used straight from the jar and glazed onto your ribs, it looses some of the heat after being cooked this way but the flavor remains and the sweetness is just right.
Now the other TPJ flavors work great too, and put a nice color to the finished ribs,or whatever other Que you want to use it on, like the strawberry hab, berry medley, cherry, etc.
I've experimented with most of the flavors that Texana offers, on my ribs and haven't had a bad one yet....it's just that my personal tastes always comes back to the Pineapple Habanero.....they're all good...

IMO - the difference between jalapeno and habanero is...
Jalapeno - not quite as hot but the heat stays with you longer
Habanero - hits you and then disappears pretty quick
I personally like the habanero better because of that...

Well, my wife went from turning her head away from the TPJ to saying, 'What do you mean, we're out of Pineapple Hab???"

In my case, it's eeny, meeny, miney, moe. If that don't work, I just flip a coin. Heads it's pineapple hab, tails it's whatever other flavor that I have on hand.Hey it works for me.

mine said the same thing!!!
i use more than 3 tablespoons! guessing like 4-5ish, hit it 25seconds in the nuke(mines wimpy) spread it on 30 minutes before pull'n, serve with sauce on the side. we like head country, sort of sweet but doesn't over power the meat..

Yep, habanero is a hit-and-run heat.
