Pull up the link below. This looks like a good idea and I saw it priced at under $30 on amazon.com. Just wanted to know if there are any frist hand users on this site.

In the video on that website, it's funny when he pulls out the tomato and tries to cut it. All he does is push the knife straight down on the tomato without trying to slice. Then, he puts the knife through the sharpener, and, all of a sudden, it can cut the tomato (Note: this time, he's using the proper swiping motion). I trust this guy about as much as I trust my brother-in-law.
I think I'll keep using my Lansky.

I'm telling ya...it's not that far fetched an idea...I'm tempted also...at that price, I consider it just one meal's investment...if it's a bad one...you learned not to go back to that restaurant again.

I just wonder about how well it guides the blade. I worry about getting a crooked or leaning edge.

Correct me if I am wrong, but it shows 20 deg per side. That would mean a total of 40 deg angle. I thought most kitchen knives needed 20 to 30 deg total, not per side?

If you get a good knife (Forschner) you dont need any fancy knife sharpener. All you need is the steel which you order when you buy the knives.

I did get the knife sharpener and the knife at no charge. This is a good sharpener and it does put a razor edge on a knife. Real easy to use and the knife they are gving as a premium is pretty nice. This deal gets my full recommendation.
