View Full Version : Brisket with no fat on it, Should I BBQ it?

Hi all I was given a brisket that was defated. If I use a rub on it and bbq it the same as a normal one what is your thoughts?
It looks really good, I just don't want to waste my time.

Sounds like it could be a flat. I would smoke as normal, foil around 160-165 and be sure to put some apple juice or beef broth in when you foil.

Additionally, you could drape some bacon slices over the top for sh#ts and giggles.

What I do is coat liberally with vegetable oil just before cooking then foiling like Bowhntr says. It will come out fine.
