My son is going on a ride along tomorrow at the DFD and wants to take some food. Gotta get off this last minute requests :banghead:

I am heading to the store to either purchase pork loins and will stuff and cook now, then he can reheat there, or a butt.

Question on the butt is since we are getting so late of a start...can we cook for 8 or so hours today (no matter what temp it gets to) and then let him take it, put it in the oven when he gets there at 6am and let it finish and pull there? Would that be an acceptable method rather than completly finishing today?

Thanks!!

Best thing about this is, I made him do everything. He isn't really too interested in it right now cuz of the time factor, but if it turns out good and he gets a lot of compliments tomorrow....look out, maybe I can just sit back watch for a while.

Hey Bowhunter, it's been a couple of weeks since you posted this. Tell us how they turned out. I might want to give the quick method a try.

Well, I can't give you a good answer. He said it was good, but not as good as when I finish it all at once here.

But here is the deal...the captain told him to put a bunch of water in the pan  before sticking it in the oven. So it was a little mushy.

I guess that was my bad for not sending a little apple juice and more specific instructions.

I think I would try it again though.

I know Firefighters and I bet they ate every speck of it. They usually leave one little slice so the last man to eat it (and someone will) will have to clean the pan. :)

ROFL... and I thought our guys were the only ones who did this!
