My first competition, Comepleted!!!

Wow, what FUN!!! I really met a bunch of great people. They wound up having I think it was 62 entries on the KCBS side, and then 78 in my division (The Shadetree). Estimated around 15,000 spectators through the event. So much fun, your guy's are right, I'm hooked. I went to have as much fun as possible and to learn as much as I could. I thought if I at least place in the top 50, my feelings wouldn't be hurt. But did not expect much. I actually had an out of body experience. I placed 23 out of 78 on ribs (Thanks TBBQR & TPJ), but I placed 4th out of 78 in chicken and gots myself a plaque!!! Finished 6th overall!!! Man I tell you, my wife said after 15 years, she THINKS she finally saw me dance! Incredible weeknd and I owe MUCH of my accomplishement to the fellas on this forum, I have learned SO MUCH from you guys. But anyway, was very excited and just wanted to let you guys know that have not tried TBBQ Rub or any TPJ, it's hard pressed to do ANY better!!!

Thanks again fella's, though none of you were there, I would never have done this good without all of your help!

Makes me absolutely sick, downloaded all pics from camera before I left, made sure I had everything, checked it twice (in fact) went to start taking pic's and realized the batteries were dead. When I downloaded all my pictures I guess I left the camera on. I couldnt believe it made me absolutely sick. Even had my 2 1/2 year old a custom apron made, she looked adorable running around, now all I have is mental pictures. My wife told me, your Texas bussies are gonna be p.o.'d My buddy that helped took a few with his camera so I hope to have those soon, then I'll at least post something.

TW, Q Fest is the first weekend in November. It is generally pretty boring. Just alot of sitting around drinking and making fun of one another while others cook great food for you.........
