does anybody ever spray briskets while they are cooking, if so what do you use ?

I never spray briskets. One time I saw a guy spray his with 409. However I think most dat do spray use apple juice, but don't hold me to dat.

I think any value attributable to spraying is negated by heat lost opening the pit.

I dont know much about brisket as I am sure will find out if you read a lot of these posts, but I can share with you what I think.

Spraying or mopping brisket is a waste of time in my opinion.

A little liquid in your foil when you wrap can make a difference and I sometimes do that, but never do I spray or mop.

Just my .02 worth ....

I don't spray mine, either. I sometimes add some a.j. when I wrap it. Bill's rub does most of the work anyway! T

I never have sprayed, but I used to mop with a Dr Pepper based mop....did good with it but did just as good without it.
