I would like to find out if any of you inject your brisket to help the flavor along or do you not even waste your time? Just wondering

I have never tried injecting brisket. Not sure if that would help at all for moisture or not.
Tried it a few weeks back but didn't notice a difference! :o Prolly a wasted effort...but I had ta try! :D

I've never injected a brisket but I know some of the competition guys do. I sometimes inject turkeys because the breast is so dry and it helps.

Some inject some don't...Gotta be careful cause it can leave telltale tracks in the meat. Folks are always looking for a short cut or easier way to produce great tasting BBQ.
If you use a good rub, a good piece of meat and cook it properly, then injecting doesn't matter.
Personally, I don't see the advantages of it. Trim the brisket, season it well, then pay attention to what you are doing and trying to accomplish with the temps and time that the meat is exposed to the smoke on your pit.

Three weeks ago I used a recipe by Dr. BBQ (Ray Lampe) called Big Cow Injection. The end result was a good taste but a very pale looking meat.

You may regret that, 101. It sounds like, pretty soon, Fab B may be as hard to find as Pig Powder.

Why would I want to find Pigs Powder? Now finding you with cooler full of cold beer or some of your Home Brew sounds like a lot more fun.

I'm not sure if it is the same stuff but there is an ad in the KCBS newsletter for pig powder. Check it out and let us newbies know!

It's on page 8 of the KCBS Bullsheet, May edition. Trim Tabbs Pig Powder $7.00. Looks like it is being sold by KCBS, not an individual.

Hey Ya"ll on the injection thing, I use that Allegro's injection marinade for beef in my briskets & I ain't had a bad one yet. I learned that working with Bill @ the Houston Rodeo back in '04. It worked out well. I believe that it's a matter of personal choice myself. BTW, you can use the brisket sauce as injection marinade But you have to be careful about it clogging up your hypo needle tho. Just my experiences.
Oh yeah as far as Fatz goes, I couldn't even tell you if he is still around anymore. I ain't talked to him in it seems like 'forever'. I don't know where he is or if he is still even alive.
