Each year, one of the local markets brings in live lobsters from Maine for Memorial Day weekend. A number of years ago we started a small get together for what has become an annual "Lobster Mania" party. We "sponsor" a bocce ball tournament, the winning team getting their name added to the coveted Bocce Ball trophy. Most years the championship game is played well after mid-night under the aid of halogen lights! :lol:
I steamed 18 lobsters and cleaned 5 pounds of calamari last night in preparation for today's event. I'll finish the lobsters on the grill prior to serving. Bodacious is already doing her thing with four pork butts and a brisket. I'll toss on nine racks of baby back ribs later. Pretty much ready to go at this point. Later this morning I'll "create" some armadillo eggs for afternoon snacks. Oh, and can't forget the salmon....one of the guests dropped off some salmon last night. I'll prepare them over cedar planks. Should be a tasty day!!!!
