I'm going to try the Brisket recipe from the Texas bbq rub website the only problem is my TX rub has not got here and will not be here in time for the cook..Could some of you pros suggest some rubs that will turn this into a A+ Brisket. Thanks Jason

Txbbq rub is the best but a simple salt and pepper rub is always my second choice.... Use the same cooking instructions you got on here.......

I agree with free, just watch how much brown sugar you put in (Long cook+lots of brown sugar= black brisket).

Instead of regular old salt I like the Lowry's garlic salt and black pepper. Works good in a pinch if you don't have your favorite rub.
Hey, I've done a search for Jason (the first name in your email) in KY and TN, as well as looking up your email address for previous orders and I can't seem seem to sync you with any orders.
Every order has also been shipped except for today's order.
If you PM me your name, order number, or the email address you used I can get you a tracking number and and you may get the order.
We've sent a few orders to priority in the past few weeks even if they paid for parcel, so you may be in luck.
I just can't seem to figure out which order is yours. I just don't see any orders with your name, from your state, with your email address. Did you get a conformation of an order taking place?

I noticed my latest free sceintifical evaluation sample has also been mysteriously absent from the mail box. I bees glad when yall get them shipping errors straightened out myself. In the meantime I also thought Wild Willys from the Smoke n' Spice book taste good as a brisket rub. Now never bumped into many bbq judges who agree with me of course:) If push come to shove and you afraid to break a nail while making your own...try any kind of name brand Fajita seasoning. The flavor profiles is real similar.
Wild Willy's Number One-derful Rub
==================================
3/4 cup paprika (I'd make that Hungarian if it was me)
1/4 cup ground black pepper
1/4 cup salt
1/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons chili powder
2 tablespoons garlic powder
2 tablespoons onion powder
2 teaspoons cayenne (or more!!!)

ps..Spiking it up with a little good branded Lemon Peppa dont hurt it a bit neither.

I agree with Scott that Texas BBQ Rub is the best, and I know that Blake and Bill will get that good stuff out to you as promised. In a pinch, though, some salt, freshly ground black pepper, some garlic salt, and some good chili powder will get you to a fairly good place. It's nothing close to TxBBQRub, but it's better than nothing.
If you've come looking for a cheap way to sub for the real thing, you've come to the wrong place. You can't beat the quality of the real thing, and I know I haven't even tried.
Blake, great job on the customer service. Your family is the best.

Jason, this is the exact recipe I use for comps. I take all the ingredients and put them in a coffee or spice grinder for a few spins. This makes enough rub for 2 10-12lbs. briskets. Hope you like it. -Jay
2 1/2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
2 tablespoons paprika
2 teaspoons dry mustard
2 teaspoons onion powder
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 1/2 teaspoons dried sweet basil
1 teaspoon ground bay leaves
3/4 teaspoon ground coriander
3/4 teaspoon ground savory
3/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/8 teaspoon ground cumin
Salt, to taste

Not sure what you're talking back either. I don't see anyone by the name of Jeff Wheeler to ever order our product since 2005. Unless you changed your name.
And we don't give out free samples because it's not fair to those who pay for it.

Bigbroiler we have tried to find any order that you had placed with us. You stated you have not received your order and we searched over 9500 names in our order data bank and we could not match any name with anyone in KY. If you would send me a private message with your order number then I will find out if there has been any problems. We usually ship orders in one or two days from receiving your order (about 90% of the time the next day). Help me out here and give me the order number. We are waiting for your reply as Blake had asked you this earlier.
BigWheel we do not send out samples so I guess you have a long wait ahead of you.
