Central Texas, Austin area forum members!!!!

I stopped by Harley's today and picked up 1/2 a cord of post oak for $50.00 (felt like that was a GREAT price). They also had hickory, pecan, and mesquite for a higher price. I'm gonna get online and see if I can find a "new to me" wood rack and go back and get some hickory and/or pecan as well.

Now that is a great deal. You sure it ain't Black Jack Oak like Quart Low was talking about? :) :) Where is Harley's? Too bad it's not in the Houston area. If I were you, I would stock up.

No, it was post oak. They had a TON of it, just dropped 8 cords on them this morning. They are on 183 just N of Anderson Mill Rd in Austin. I have nowhere to store it right now. Anyone know where you can get a GOOD, HEAVY DUTY firewood rack ASAP? Found some good prices online, but then it will be a week or 2 for shipping. But that may be better than nothing.

Try stacking it on some wooden pallets and cover with a tarp over the top. That works purty good and is cheap cheap.

Horns,
Same thing bigwheel said. You could go to Lowe's, or the like. Grab six or eight of those precast 12x12x2 concrete blocks and two 4x4x10 posts. Set the posts on the blocks and cover with a tarp. Should work till ya have the real thing.
