I wonder what this would taste like on a smoker? Might not be a bad idea to partically pan fry the bacon before starting so as not to dry out the chik.
What ya think?

1 1/4 pounds boneless, skinless, chicken breasts (about 4 breasts)
1 (1-pound) package sliced bacon
2/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons chili powder

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Cut chicken breasts into 1-inch cubes. Cut each bacon slice into thirds. Wrap each chicken cube with bacon and secure with a wooden pick. Stir together brown sugar and chili powder. Dredge wrapped chicken in mixture. Coat a rack and broiler pan with nonstick cooking spray. Place chicken wrap on rack in broiler pan. Bake 350 for 30 to 35 minutes or until bacon is crisp.

We do these on the pit with a half of a jalapeno (chicken, cream cheese, jalapeno, wrapped in bacon, dusted with Bill's rub mixed with brown sugar)and call it a Chicken Turd.

I think it's a lot of work to cube the chicken and also the bacon. If it's all in same-shape-slices, like Txngent indicated, then it's much easier and more of a mouthful.

But the seasoning sounds good too...depends on your mood, I guess.

When I was stupid, I was going to do this for my KCBS chicken turn in. Then somebody pointed out that is was considered "marking?" I did experiment around with it on legs mostly. As I recall, it was good, but nothing special! Wood

I cooked these for the first time last night. Chicken tenders seasoned and wrapped in bacon, then cooked over an open fire.
