On my 3rd tour to Alaska this year, I couldn't help but notice all the very small ice cream and espresso stands. I immediately knew espresso might not be a good seller in the middle of a TX summer with temps going into the triple digits, but after I tasted a free sample of Alaskan frozen custard, it hits me........
When in Pasadena this year, (since I'm pretty much dead weight with the team I usually cook with) why not sell a good rich frozen custard, 3 or 5 different flavors, and serve it in a homemade sugar cone and maybe even add a real popular apple cinnamon grillin and finishing sauce on top for a little extra charge? I could just do cups,.... but who dosen't like big sugar cones?

Anybody ever have any experience with this type of stuff??
Need your .02 cents worth.

I like the custard style ice cream a lot. There is an old business not too far from our house and the lines are never ending...people love it.

My own tastes say to keep it simple and not have too much in the way of add-ons and fancy stuff...sometimes you just want an ice cream.

Yep.........that's it.....I'm psychic.:)

Well, I guess I will load up my backwoods in Sept and just cook Passadena. Selling ice cream would be too much work anyway.:)
Don't forget, you gotta have the sugar cones, cups alone just won't cut it for some patrons.

Well there is places who will supply you with a soft serve moochine for free..providing you buy the raw ingredients from them. Wichita Cigar and Tobacco Co. is where we got ours. Not sure they still in bidness. Anyway the liquid stuff comes in gallon cans is fairly pricey. The moochines draw a bunch of amps or watts or whutever it is them electrical types chitter about. I know it was always blowing my circuit breaker. Do not let the kids make their own. They get greedy and make em to tall then it falls off in the floor.

First he said cause ya'll did not spend the night and go swimming with him. Then he thought on it another minute and said..."Ya know Pop, I'm really mad cause they came all the way over here, made all that ice scream for me and loaded that thing up and took it to Texas".

I tried to help ya out yesterday ya know. CoCo calls da house at bout 9 last night, he said "Pop, ya got anything sweet up there". I said "no, but I'll get Maw up and get her to get us a gallon of Bluebell". CoCo said.."no, did you finish off the quart of ice scream you brought home from Amite"? I told him yes and now he's made at me too!

I told him he can come to Passadena and you and him can make ice scream all weekend.

When I left this morning he was outside on da sidewalk putting an edge on dat japaness nife he has, da biggest one. I'll give him your phone number.
