I think I got a good deal. I always watch the reduced meat at a local grocer, and today they had some Cooks brand brisket flats marked down from 3.99 to 1.49 a pound. I got all four, the date on them was yesterday, threw them in the freezer til I can fire up the smoker. Think they will be ok? They all were around 4 pounds. This will be my first brisket cook.

They will be just fine. You got a good deal. Let us know when you throw them on the smoker, and take pics.

Will ButtRub be good on the brisket? All I got, ran out of TBR. What wood is best on these....I have some pecan, a stick or two of cherry, oak, and some month old apple. My father in law just threw away a 4" limb at the break peice of peach, I shamed him for not calling me.
