So we had a little get together week before last....nuthin left but bones. I think I'm getting the hang of this.... I used Worcestershire and the Texas BBQ Original rub on the ribs and apple juice and Texas Wild on the chicken. Threw on a few links of Chappel Hill sausage just to be safe (had quite a few "extras" show up)
Cooked the chicken on the top rack...I have NEVER had chicken so moist with such a great smoked flavor. It just fell off the bone...

Welcome to the forum KSD, and congrats on the new pit. You can learn a lot from the pros here. Living in Kemah, you can grill fresh seafood everyday. Go to the new members section and introduce yourself to the forum. Again welcome.

Woodman...I haven't quite completed it...I still have a few more signs to put up, a rough wood and old metal box to build that will keep my smokin wood and charcaol, maybe a cedar post and palm franz lean-to with a smoke stack to go over my smoker.
And you should see the rest of the yard (also not completed) I have a couple of nice queen palms, a 20x10 cedar pergola covering my porch. And I'm about to add a washer pit in the grass area with crushed granite pads where you stand to throw.
I'll post pics when I'm finished... :D

Cedar? Beautiful looking wood but it's a freakin weed. My wife and I bought ten acres a couple years back and where we want to build the house is nothing but eastern red cedar, thousands of the damn things. We are saving the posts and having the big ones sawn into boards for furniture but luckily the damn things burn even when they are green.
Glen,
Damn nice looking food. You gonna cook at Qfest this year? Maybe you could help Redneck. I hear he's still trying to figure out how its done! :banghead:
